§ 15-4. Director of community development.

  • The position of director of community development for the city is hereby created with the following duties and responsibilities:

    (1)

    Supervision and administration of building permit activities required by the city building code without assuming responsibility for enforcement of technical and/or structural determinations reserved for "building officials" as required by such Code.

    (2)

    Supervision and administration of the city's zoning laws, site plan review and subdivision regulations.

    (3)

    Preparation of grant applications and administration of grants related to community development or as determined by the city.

    (4)

    Staff support for planning commission and other advisory boards as deemed appropriate by the mayor or city council.

    (5)

    Staff liaison with county, state, federal, regional and other local agencies.

    (6)

    Completion of comprehensive plan update and other studies deemed appropriate by the mayor or city council.

    (7)

    Provide advice or recommendations to mayor and city council as they may request.
