§ 10.5-10. Downtown Arab Historic District created.

(a)

Designation of historic district. There is hereby created and designated in and for the City of Arab the Downtown Arab Historic District with boundaries as follows and further indicated on the attached map. [Description of boundaries and map are on file and available for inspection in the offices of the city.]

(b)

Boundaries. Upon designation, the Downtown Arab Historic District shall be shown on the Official Zoning Map of the City of Arab and kept as a public record to provide notice of such designation.

(c)

Certificate of appropriateness. Upon the effective date of this section, no material change in the appearance of any structure, site, object or work of art within the designated Downtown Arab Historic District shall be made or permitted to be made, unless or until the application for a certificate of appropriateness has been submitted to and approved by the Arab Historic Preservation Commission.
